I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?
Fam, need an advice. Asking for a close friend. He has 2 offers 1. Jpmc: ctc 21 lakhs(excludes bonuses) 2. Morgan stanley through third party: ctc 27 lakhs (includes everything) Which is better in terms of career growth, job security? Work is sort of similar in both. #Morgan Stanley #JPMorgan Chase

Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.
https://ergochair.co/collections/chairs/products/ergonomics-mesh-chair-w-adjustable-headrest-and-armrest?variant=32511617597491
My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

OP, this sounds like a rough deal. Thank goodness you're a Deal Manager.
@PWC1 - thx, that was extremely helpful... 😂
Wishing you the best OP.
Op for president
idk anyone who got fired however you would not be able to work on certain federal projects that require special clearance.
Ey1, what kind of federal projects are doing 'M&A' work 😂..clearly OP is in commercial
@PwC2 - the lawyer is the one that told me that the trustee would contact my employer to take the payments directly out of my check
D2, Deloitte actually has a healthy federal m&a portfolio. a number of agencies have consolidated or divested functions. with a Trump presidency, there will probably be more of that. some of my former colleagues are doing significant m&a work on the federal side. you probably should educate yourself on your firm's offerings a bit more.
Oh man that's rough. Best of luck
@KPMG1 - it's not a side business, I'm just an investor, and yes, I declared it in my independence. The personal debt limits are also part of independence from a personal standpoint but not from a business liability perspective. Either way, I realize that the debt is cause for termination... yet another reason why I would prefer not to disclose...
Probably depends on what conflicts the bankruptcy may cause/unveil. Talk to a lawyer before bringing it up to your employer
My parents went through a similar situation and their trustee went to their bank acct after the paycheck was deposited. But I would trust what your lawyer says.
@SC1 - the lawyer said if I could find precedent of someone being fired I could make a case for the trustee to let me make payments directly - that's sort of why I started this thread - to look for precedents and use it as evidence that will allow me to file a motion for direct payments and not wage garnishment.
@PWC1 - thx, this is a shitty deal, need all the good wishes I can get
What happened that you're in so much debt?
Sounds like you and SC1 should talk to see if his/her parents situation is enough to act as precedent
Neither of my parents lost their jobs.
Good to know SC1, but I think one reason they didn't have trouble at work was because they set up direct payments and were able to fly under the radar...
@Deloitte1 - started a side business that went belly up. Was bootstrapping with personal credit until we could obtain angel funding... now I'm the guarantor for lots of money for a business that will never service the debt
