I'll give him as much grace as he gave Paul Pelosi after he was beaten within an inch of his life with a hammer.
Paul Pelosi was hit on the head with a hammer by his gay lover and it was not "within an inch of his life" ffs.
The other 99.9% of the time MAGA say and demonstrate that they think empathy and decency are weakness. Yall need to take a few seats. This sudden cry for decorum is insulting.

The responses in this are absolutely disgusting. It’s no longer a right wing/left wing thing. It’s a battle against evil. The past week has been eye opening for most.

D6 - I LITERALLY LOL'D AT THIS COMMENT
The takeaway here is what we already know: gun violence is a uniquely American problem.

VPHR1 - Acts of violence involving firearms still happen occasionally in places like Norway, but look at the overall number of incidents there vs. the US and you will see we have a very big problem.
Thoughts and prayers, too soon to politicize this. Am I doing this right?
Truly disturbing.

I am not worried about the couch humper, hence there is no anguish to please you.
With the comments I see I’m genuinely worried this could be a moment that has a snowball effect. Only takes one act of “retribution” for our country to start snowballing.
Sadly I’m not sure it matters. Even if a lone wolf with a random nitpick and some apolitical motive - the country is polarized to the point of violence. Minnesota, Trumps earlier assassination attempt, Paul Pelosi etc. Both sides are primed and violence is celebrated online with high fives.
Kirk had a massive following. I disagreed with some of his approach, but also respected that he was unique in that he encouraged thoughtful debate between both sides (even if the left and right both cherry picked clips for their own polarization).
America is not functioning. We forgot that we are all Americans, that we share a common bond despite our differences. It only takes a few sparks for things to unravel and we have had this legacy of American “exceptionalism” in which we are convinced the worst can’t happen to us.
It can. Dancing over the grave of Kirk, or the hospital bed of Paul Pelosi only adds fuel to an already stoked fire.
This one of those threads where I would be interested to see how many of these posts/statements would actually be said out loud by the people posting behind “anonymous” accounts.
I’m glad you have mirrors, D2!
You all do realize that this type of commentary isn't beneficial, correct? I find lots of people make jokes about how "freedom of speech is not freedom of consequence", but its generally directed towards specific events. That statement is always correct and applies to all of our actions from the past to the present and on to the future.
I am very concerned about the future, and I hope that people recognize that no matter how bad people believe things currently are that our lives can always get considerably worse.
This of course is disregarding that many (if not close to all) of us are part of the 'upper middle class' and don't have to face the same problems as the rest of americans do.
I can’t imagine that this will be good in the midterm election for Democrats
Let’s call it 250 and put it on Virginia gubernatorial elections?
Thsre are also 1000s of millions (Trumpism!!) agreeing with him.
Thoughts and prayers y'know
