McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? First year associate. I’ve never felt more insecure in my life
This is how I felt as an Analyst as well 😬

Def not Senior Manager. First year out of MBA (if you weren’t in consulting before). High cost, low value.

But also all of the male managers I’ve worked with have been super insecure on a personal level (very easily offended/triggered, can’t take feedback, etc.)
Are they also 27 and shouldn’t be a manager? This isn’t gender specific - we promote people too early in most cases. I guess we are trying to offer people a vibrant career, but those that have to work for them suffer.
