If you’re already a manager, don’t see why 170k Base is unrealistic - think that’s almost close to industry standard for big 4 type firms
What firm are you at now? Be ready for them to bait and switch and offer you senior consultant, especially with only 5 years exp, but probably the same money you want.
Source: been there done that
Depends on the function. 170 isn’t out of range depending on the group. You will not come in as a Manager. Deloitte is SUPER conservative on levels especially Managers. But if you want to work at Deloitte don’t let it deter you. You can always ask for early promotion and if you’re performing at the next level it is definitely noticed and rewarded
5 years experience won’t get you a manager role at D. You will likely come in as a SC and 170 is way too high for that
They’ll talk you down to come in as SC. Target whatever they are paying MBA hires these days. 170k is too high
It won’t get OP laughed at if s/he asks for that though right? It’s not crazy high
If you have an top MBA, you might be able to secure 150ish at the SC level. Manager is a tougher sell at D than at other Big 4.
Seems like a bait and switch to me. Though let us know if you do manage to get M.
