McKinsey & Company Any advice to help prepare for data science analyst role at top consulting firms (McKinsey & Company EY Boston Consulting Group etc)? Any materials, open source platform recommended to take on freelance data science project? When should I start actively looking and applying? I am a new grad who is working in tech as a marketing analyst I’m looking to pivot to marketing& sales data science consulting next year. Would like someone with similar backgrounds offer some practical tips.
My final round with Deloitte for UK Tech Consulting Manager position soon. Strangely it’s not a PMD round as it usually is for other Big4/tech consulting firms.
1. Can anyone tell me if they’ve been through the whole process without speaking to PMD? (First round Sr Manager, second Case Interview by a manager and third again by a manager) 2. What is a typical salary to expect? I was asked in screening but kept it vague (e.g can discuss later bla bla). I was hoping 75-80 (ridiculous?)
Is there bowl to discuss interview questions

First learn how to use thrice. Then reschedule for a fourth time. Do they sound sincere when they reschedule? If not do you really want this person as your boss? Three rescheduled interviews tells me they are not interested or do not have their priorities straight.
All BS aside good luck to you and don't let them give you the runaround. There are better shops out there.
Honestly if they weren't interested they wouldn't be rescheduling, that's just wasted time. We all know this industry is crazy, Just go with it and when you see them they'll appreciate you were chill about it when they had a hard week.
What are the reasons why?
Don't blow it off. Probably busy. If it's a good shop it might be a bogus interview. Seems there's a lot of those around right now. They bring in people to brain rape, talk shop and get "inspired" on how to restructure. You have nothing to lose and you have no leverage. Relax and you'll be pleasantly surprised if it works out.
It's certainly disrespectful to prospective candidates as it shows they don't take your time as seriously to stick to the appointment. Once is fine and you don't want to be inflexible, but three times is just rude. So at this point it depends on how much you personally want to get your foot in the door there...
Three times is realistic. Schedules are insane, things come up a lot, and if you're talking to multiple people, that makes it even trickier to schedule. I would not conclude that this organization is rude or not interested.
Freelance ACD, other meetings have come up, no solid excuse was really give - the recruiter was really apologetic when she rescheduled for the third time.
No. It's equally hard/should be respected that the candidate needs to find time in their schedule and an excuse to be away in order to do the interview. That's how getting candidates works. It's a two way process. Anyway, I was also under the impression it's only with one person, maybe I misunderstood. Regardless, that's happened to me and I've met with those who didn't have a conflict and later with the one who needed to reschedule.
