Interviewing at a tech comp. Role is lateral, but title is “Principal”. Honestly never heard of this title before as my career is on the agency side. Is this title a resume killer as currently a CD?

For unusual / unclear titles - one way to address it easily is to write the title on the resume, then add in parenthesis a brief "clarifying" title that's more layman-sounding. Ex: Principal (Creative Direction Head/Lead) Overall, I wouldn't worry about a title impeding your career. That's not how it works if you're qualified. Don't over think these things and good luck with three interview process!

If anyone wants to join a boutique HR & Talent Advisory consulting firm, Kincentric is hiring for an Associate Partner role! Location doesn’t really matter, but preferably in IL, NY, or ATL.
