Honestly, definitely think about the trade off here. Expectations are much higher, and the runway to the next level much shorter, for a senior. That can make for a very stressful year. If level isn't a dealbreaker, and it probably shouldn't be, let the chips fall where they may.
Senior associates usually come in with decent industry experience (2-3+ years), not typically consulting experience from what I have seen. Thus on the question of A vs SA I think it'd be more about your presence and how comfortable they'd be putting you in front of a client day 1 vs. your consulting skill set.
Agree with BCG 1. As an SA, you'll be judged against A2s which is undoubtedly one of the more competitive cohorts at BCG. If you think you can hang from day 1, great; otherwise, you could be in for a stressful 6month review
Yes... and remember expectation at BCG is 2 years from A to Consultant (post-MBA rank). Our "SA" rank is a one-year alternative... but it has a high failure rate. Traditional As do not pass through SA, it's an entirely different route
