Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

Every week, there's a post asking if there's going to be more layoffs. At wpp, at omnicom, at wherever.
The answer straight up is yes. Unfortunately there will be continual layoffs for the foreseeable future. These CEOs will run their agencies to the ground.
…and sail off on their yachts to Valinor.
Junior roles all getting outsourced too. Worry about our current on shore associates/SAs. How do we attract entry level talent?
The only way media agencies are going to hire onshore entry level talent is if it’s specifically in the scope and the client specially wants US based people only.
Otherwise the thinking is there’s enough mid level management to handle and manage offshore people and the few entry level US based people.
Which frankly is true. There is way too many media talent for what current clients need and how this industry is trending.
The amount of media planners, media strategists, comms designers, account managers, partnerships, investment teams, negotiators etc is insane. While the activation teams are much smaller by comparison. Why bc those teams supposedly bring in the revenue bc they are client facing of the AOR, while activation are just the order takers.
So the thinking is there’s enough people to not hire entry level, off shore activation as much as possible, off shore entry to second level people all to have better margins and charge more to clients for mid to senior level people.
So essentially you are not going to need entry level people for a very long time bc there is enough talent existing to cover for it.
Yes, definitely. I am seeing redundancies in Omnicom agencies in the UK. Also, merging of IPG/Omnicom agencies, with the inevitable redundancies. Those who work in the back room departments, legal/finance etc are also very concerned.
Dude it’s just getting started
They'll shed another 8%
Count on it
I'm sorry for not exactly understanding what some of those indications mean, however if a larger company is going to merge then there will be cuts ,but also means that you have an opportunity to grow through the process of promotional ideals at the perfect point, find out what's going to be the running format once they start to integrate get asmuch information as you can on past stats, then running with whatever stats you have access to direct the narrative to grow through the process the fastest way possible, usually it means getting rid of those standing around not knowing their job ,listen whatever your job use algorithms, even ones created by Ai if yo have to just triple che k them because a new multimillion pound company has lots of people who fit in very specific rolls, but what they Always look for is those who have initisative, to take on different networks of people to gather whatever info you may need to solve issues they didn't even see coming! A problem solving, moving asset!
