I think it depends on what you consider valuable. To me, personally, the switch wouldn’t be worth it because 20-25% doesn’t really make a huge impact on my standard of living and I’ll have to work hard to establish new relationships and build political capital at the new firm. If that comes easy to you, and you don’t mind starting over in that regard, then more money sounds great.
Came from PwC to D and received a ~60% raise, aside from that, even at a jr level, I did not realize how painful losing my entire network of advocates would be. Has been difficult starting from zero.
So very true.
Expect to spend 2-3 years at SC before M, even if you are brought in as a "senior" SC
Yes we are all about networking starting from zero is hard wouldn’t leave for 20%. 50% yes.
It’s actually 40-50% raise, given the cost of living/state taxes. Currently based out of NYC and am planning to relocate to TX. I’m in mid twenties and am thinking about settling down in a place long term. That’s probably why I’m even thinking lol. Otherwise all the pointers you guys suggested are great!
If you were still in NYC, building your network would be relatively easier in Deloitte as we have happy hours and networking events almost every Friday. Can’t say the same about other locations.
