I am seeing stellar returns and extremely low expense ratios but apparently since they're quantitatively managed algorithms, they don't account for things like corona for example.

the perks remain the same. i think a lot of people opened up CSR because of that huge point bonus from last year.
i have amex plat, but i hear that the CSR travel budget is more flexible than ours, since it can be used for any portion of the "travel" process. we have designated categories -- allocated credits for uber (monthly), travel allowance to one specific airline you select at card open (can only be changed annually), and the global entry/precheck credit. point to point redemption is also better through CSR to my understanding. but i like the automatic SPG/marriott gold status, centurion access, delta perks and priority pass membership.
concierge is also amazing. left my card at home once and had a replacement shipped to my hotel the next day. booked so many crazy trips, dinners and events through amex as well. i think amex plat is worth it if you actually use/enjoy the services. otherwise stick to CSR.
Uhoh. Is TPG not getting that referral $$ from chase anymore??
Did something change?
I’m with Mck1. Not sure what changed to spur this conversation
TPG is a hack. He steals content and pushes credit cards that pay him referrals
I'm sure they're both great, but I love my Amex Platinum (Personal). Access to the Delta lounges is one of the top perks + SPG/Marriott/Hilton Gold statuses (great for consultants just starting out who haven't earned status yet)
Underrated features include premium roadside assistance; I got a flat on a sloped parking garage and my tire was stuck (was scared to kick on slope+jack) and remembered I had that benefit. 15 minutes they had a guy to me and I was on my way. Tipped the guy but otherwise free, up to 4 times per calendar year.
Concierge, purchase protection, etc make it totally worth the money. I also use the shit out of my Uber/Travel benefit of $200/ea.
Thinking about switching myself, interested to see what people say
Not aware of any changes, I just saw TPG heavily pushing it only Facebook feed
The change was Amex Plat moving to 5x points on travel
^ gotcha, I think people are confused because that happened a year ago, so they don't see it as "new"
I'm still sticking with Chase. Combining it with the Freedom and Freedom Unlimited is an excellent way to pool points.
When you’re on Amex corporate Platinum, don’t you get all that? I guess all the benefits are for your work travel? But if you’re having to pay out of your own pocket to get lounge access and all for work travel, wouldn’t the Corporate card make more sense?
