If you have cash that you want to invest. Please consider Treasury Series I Savings Bond (Electronic). Interest is 7.12% right now. While it's not guaranteed that the 7.12% will remain until next year, it's still a good deal.
My SO and I just invested 20k (10k max per person even married).

I think it’s generally not a good idea to mess around. I’d recommend sending off and email as a CYA and be prepared to pay up. If they catch it, it would probably come with penalties.

Counties are usually 6-12 months behind on readjusting the taxes. You may see a supplemental tax bill in coming months. In any case, check with county tax collector on where things stand with your true tax bill.

Tax evasion will be penalized, when caught (note, "when" and not "if")
Most of us are not smart enough to be successful in tax evasion; only a matter of time before they catch up with you.
They’ll catch up, and you’ll owe the difference. Might as well flag it now.
My county absolutely imposes rollback taxes and collects the higher back taxes for the years that a landowner did not qualify for the lower rate or exemption. You said “village” so you are not in my county. But you still may be at risk of rollback taxes.
Thanks for the responses. I was leaning towards not saying anything because I contacted the tax assessor last year when I first noticed my amount due included the senior discounts and they told me I was locked in for the remainder of the tax year and that next year it would be removed (but it wasn't). I'm ok paying the taxes but was hoping I could push them out into the future as far as possible without being penalized when they finally caught it. I'm probably just going to give them a call this week and let them know they messed up my property bill.
