I had an interview w/ the Hiring Manager at Boston Consulting Group for a position and it went so well that the HM said on the spot I was going to be moving onto the next round. Its been weeks since that interview & I've had to follow up w/ the recruiter 3x asking for an update. I mentioned interviewing elsewhere but prioritizing BCG. He finally responded to that saying he was going to debrief with the HM and get back to me but nothing... what gives?

Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.
I got an email from a recruiter from PayPal about a position I didn’t apply for. How do I know that? Because on workday you can see all the jobs I applied for. I applied for one position in the company but got reply for another position I am not interested in. The recruiter wants to set up a phone interview? How would you react? Because I would love working there, but not in this position,
Would you say something during the phone call or before?

Yes. We are spending a lot of time applying or going through the process of finding a job. If you were working a 9-5 job you would expect to see some results.
I realize since I been laid off, unemployed, under paid, unemployed, I could have went back to college and completed a degree. 4 years of grinding, settling, upskilling, bargaining, compromises, etc. to be in worse financial situation and same employment position.
There is also high hourly rate blue collar jobs that are never, never out of demand.
I'm in tech and if I ignore the paper monies and tally the long hours, electricians and plumbers make more than most software people. The certs are also alot easier to grind for than college degrees. It's def a viable alternative path.
Yea I feel the same. I also am making projects ; fixing printers . still finding myself things to be busy and still applying when I have time

Then you get to a point where you've genuinely looked at and applied for everything that's suitsble, you go through the newer posting and get s little excited, and then go back through everything and apply to tier 2 and 3 opportunities, and adjust expectationsabout not havingto move. I'm 7 months in and fully understand that this isn't a problem I can apply my way out of.

I hope you find what you’re looking for soon!
I might start doing just that… usually apply to several every 2-3 months in a rush. Really need to sit down and tailor the resume.

Good Luck to you!

Yep. I’ve spent a lot of time on health and fitness so at least I’m improving my life in the time I have while not working

That’s great!
Society has convinced us that if we're not waste deep in application and resume submissions that we are in fact lazy. There's nothing wrong with be calculated with where you apply to and I personally think I relaxed approach may give you a moment to look at testimonies from folks that actually work there.

No, you can only apply to what matches your experience. I apply on my own as well as whatever surprise roles wind up in my LinkedIn dm or my email. I think quality over quantity helps me.
