Is anyone else running into a problem with managing repayments. What I mean is that I can afford the 20% down payment on homes in my market but my income can’t handle the repayments associated with the mortgage. I feel like I see a lot of advice on getting into a house with smaller and smaller down payments but nothing on actually handling the massive monthly mortgage bills that come with homes right now.

You can put as much down as you want and that will reduce the monthly payment. So if you really have that much cash lying around but not much income, put 30-40% down and that will reduce your monthly mortgage by at least 20% pribably

I would have to convince my company to convert me to full remote. I’d also be completely abandoning my social life.

When do you know you've toured enough houses and should pick one from the list you've got? I've seen probably 15-20 homes, and put in one offer. How many homes should you tour minimum, and how many offers did you put in before you closed? I don't want to be too hasty and choose something just because, but I also think continuing to see homes isn't really making my decision any easier. Thanks!

Total tax liability is around 400000. Any other options do I have to save tax further (other than HRA, LTA)? Thanks in advance.

I have cleared all the interview rounds (WebEx & HR on call) for the position: VERIFIER, and also submitted documents (authentic as per my knowledge) for background verification on Aug. 25, 2022.

Seeking some advice for home buying. Went under contract on a new construction back in March, was originally supposed to be ready in August but has been delayed until November. I’ve began getting quotes for mortgage rates through lenders and the best I’ve seen so far is 5.75% (excellent credit, dp at 10%) at a 60 day lock. Debating if I should test my luck with the market to see if rates will drop or if I should go ahead and lock my rate in before Rates increase even more

30% gross is $2750/mo 😱
Others say I can afford 600k houses but that seems irresponsible and ridiculous.
My current rent is $1750 for a small 1bd1ba (cheap) but I’m sacrificing my safety in my neighborhood. No frills apt.

With interest rates between 6.5% and 7.5%, it is safe to say that buyers are slowing down in their search.

I am a real estate agent who is in the process of closing on her first home. We offered $15k under list and asked for closing costs to be paid for. Granted, this is in a very small rural town; however, just know... If you have been looking for a home for the last 2 years and have not had great luck, now is the time to take advantage of the changing market. You can refi when rates drop.

I’m really discouraged. My after tax / after 401k contributions etc. take home pay is $6,500 monthly. I have $60,000 in savings / stocks for a down payment but even looking at a $550,000 home, my monthly payment would be about $3,400 from the calculators I’ve been using. Is that too high?

So discouraged that houses where I live are about 50% higher than what they were 2 years ago, and now interest rates are around 5.25% for my credit score. This is like a 1750 sq foot home
