Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

It’s not automatically a red flag. Lots of strong people are trading comp for stability, location, or better culture right now. You can address the “are they too expensive” worry by explicitly saying in your cover letter and interviews that you’re intentionally targeting this range and are comfortable there long term, and backing it up with examples of loyalty and sticking power in your past roles.
Many states require any job listing, or a recruiter reaching out with an open role, to disclose the salary range. Your preferred and agreed upon number are set in place before the interview process even starts. Unless you're asking for waaaay more, your salary should not effect their decision that much.
