I've never worried about that at all. Why would you? Once you get past your second year, you will be grossly over utilized for the next five at least.
I am not worrying about it because I am sure I will be leaving next May/June
I have pretty high expectations of myself and I’ve always considered those to be more motivating than external drivers. I don’t need to be externally motivated to work harder/better because meeting my internal expectations almost always means I will exceed those of others. It’s not always a great thing to be like this, as it makes it hard to lighten up or loosen the slack on my workload, leading to stress in a job like this where the work is never ending. But it’s the way I am as a person and I don’t know how to change it. Regardless, I generally dgaf about my UT or ratings, as long as I know I did my best (or learned how to do better if necessary) that’s really all I can do.
It's good. One less thing you can't control to worry about.
This job is stressful I used to check my UT over and over Nd got so worried. But now I don’t because I’m constantly busy and put forth my best and if that’s not good enough then 🤷🏾♀️
Completely agree SA1. I’ve got enough worries working hard and trying my best, so I’m not about to start tracking external measures that I probably exceed anyway
I don’t worry about it either. I’m pretty much always busy so I don’t see the point in tracking it
Partner once told me he had a staff that got a 3 and when they were debriefing the staff said that’s really all they were going for. Kid got tagged as unmotivated (rightfully so) and didn’t last too long after that (left on his own, not coached out). If you are really just skating by until you find $200k/yr job working 40 hour weeks, then more power to you, but realize you don’t have much of a career ahead of you in PA. Even very good employees get 3s (especially in their first year at a new level), but the difference between the best employees and the bottom of the barrel is that the best were working hard to get better than that.
