Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

I don’t think anyone has actually been hit hard yet it’s all in anticipation. Speaking of accounting firms only here.
Agree with you on that. Just seems like mid sized have make more drastic cuts earlier than small or top 10.

Think about who makes up the client base for smaller and mid-market firms. Yes this makes sense they were hit harder at least on the front end.
Bigger companies have a smaller chance of going under, more sustainable cash flows for the bigger firms that provide them services, a lot of the mid-size firms are getting hit hard too though

The top 10, in my opinion, is not really a relevant grouping. That's just arbitrary grouping because "top 10" lists sound nice.
There's the big 4. We all know they are in their own league.
Then there's GT, RSM, and BDO. They are massive and have 6,500-10,000 employees,
Then there are firms with 2000-5,600 employees (#8-21). CLA, Crowe, and CBIZ are not like magically in the same league as #5-7, just because they are #8-10. They have more in common with smaller firms.
Then there's everybody else.
Small local firms qualify for PPP and haven’t had pay cuts or layoffs? Are mid sized just manages thay lean or showing why the leaders aren’t in the big 4?
