Is it necessary to have an APICS certification?

While not necessary, it can be beneficial. You can use that a leveraging tool when negotiating for your salary, plus it may put you ahead of someone with similar experience/background.

like

It's not but it will make you more competitive

prefacing this with everything I'm saying is my opinion and I don't have a cert. I think the only benefit would be to help open a few doors for you if you do not have enough experience or have trouble articulating worthy achievements. experience trumps the certs any day and there's much better things you can do for better ROI. the problem is finding those things can be arbitrary depending on your experience, passions, and what is currently available to you while getting a cert is very straight forward

I’m smart, get things done, self motivated. however I’ve hit career ceilings because I’m incapable of schmoozing, playing office politics, aligning myself with people who can boost my career. It’s just not in me. But I haven’t come to terms with it. Every time I go on LinkedIn, I see some idiot I used to work with has been promoted or jumped ship to some very senior role and it kills me inside because I know that I’m far more capable and yet will never make the same money.

Hi Fishes,

I am thinking to diverting my career towards freelancing in accounting.
For that I have to resign from my current job in Pwc. I am thinking of starting a job as accountant and work as a freelancer as part-time.

Any thoughts or advice?

Hello,
I work in SAP Data Migration space.
Can anyone explain the difference between PWC SDC, PWC AC and PWC India?

I am trying to get into PWC. here are a few things I have heard so far. Is this fairly accurate?

1. PwC AC is offshore counterpart of PwC US. Good salary. No travel opportunities. Average yearly hike ~10% Mostly technical work.
2 PwC India is a pure consulting firm. Salary better than PwC AC. client facing work. Can grow as a management consultant. Great Travel opportunities.

Hi everybody! 😊
I've been working as a Junior Analog Design Engineer for a year and half.
I received a proposal for a Senior Analog Designer role from Bosch in the same city where I am currently working.
Should I wait and build up a few more years of experience before accepting a Senior role or should I jump in and work to fill the gap?
Next year, there will be an important deadline for the project I'm working on and my resignation could be critical for the team, how would you deal with it?
