Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

Ironically, you spelled "agencies" wrong
No. Whenever I get a request like that I know it's a not a good place to work. Most likely means someone who is not a creative is trying to fill the roles.
Happened to me as an AD, I was weirded out by it but took the job anyway. The CD that asked for the samples actually turned out to be a decent dude. Definitely a weird vibe though.
You are correct. 🙈
Laundry Service?
Whenever I do this to prospective hires, I take their ideas and use them for pitches.
No problem with samples as long as they aren't asking for new original work. I don't give away free work. I ask them for something specific that they'd like to see and dig through the archives to find similar work. Sometimes I've had agencies give you a former brief to see how you'd tackle it - that's usually okay with me as long as I know the project is over and they won't use my work, and if I'm kind of far along in the interview process.
