Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.
Anyone aware of TCS hiring process? How many days normally they take for the process. I had an interview yesterday both technical and Managerial. After that HR confirmed me over mail that I have cleared the interview rounds and asked to fill all the details on their portal. However, I haven't got any update today so I am just curious how many days they normally take to verify docs and proceed to HR discussion?Tata Consultancy Wipro Infosys IBM Accenture

Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

This can depend on your level of experience, the questions asked, and your overall sense of imposter syndrome (which in DS, is HUGE, especially in minority communities, so if this applies to you, you'll be ok, promise.)
I have been on the receiving end of a LOT of bad interviews:
- times where the interviewer is clearly trying to knowledge flex
- times where the interviewer rudely interrupts me in process
- times where the interviewer arrives very unprepared
- times where the interviewer asks esoteric questions that are applicable to their specific research field
- times where I was told my own research was wrong (lol)
The other side of the conversation here is your own preparation. That comes with time, experience, and some studying. In the past, I spent considerable outside work time studying, reading, playing with code, ect.

Pretty normal to wonder about how your evaluations went, yup. Been a few days, but hope you still get the offer!
