Any of the firms’ ring fence teams.
We have a couple of people in my office who can’t travel for personal and/or health reasons, and they’ve made it work (I.e., multiple promotions and a path to Partner)
Work st Bain in their PE group
Lots of internal roles. PE requires very little travel - but you don’t permanently specialize there until principal at the earliest.
PE? Private Equity? Even being in a major city like NY, Bos, Chi, traveling is still expected? I would’ve assumed you could find a local project.
Yes you still need to travel living in a major city, staffing is often flawed in that way.
We have a good set of local cases - but can’t 100% guarantee always commuting distance, and given traffic and all... even 20 miles outside Chicago NYC or LA can make an awful lot of sense to stay in a hotel rather than add several hours of commuting daily
I know people in the NY office that have basically never travelled (maybe Philly at most), but you can't really count on it. In practice you can likely manage it, but there's always the risk you will have to travel.
