We need more teachers down here in AZ! If you're in the area, or moving to the area, or even thinking about moving to the area (😅) feel free to check some of these out and apply. I would recommend going through the schools website, but there are multiple schools hiring! Cannot provide referrals, can provide recommendations for a good place to get a drink to celebrate your new job.

Ever thought about moving up too fast? Taking some time off now or after you make mgr to do an mba may really help you in more ways than just your career progression. Definitely helped me reassess :)
I’d say, for me, there were three main things. Relationships. Insights. Time.
Meeting people from various parts of the world and industries really opened my eyes. Also those relationships I made with my cohort were deeper than the ones I usually make at work so I was able to freely discuss my issues and thoughts.
Since you’d have anyone and everyone in your cohort, all the indirect exposures you’ll get are limitless. If something interests you, many will take your coffee offer and you can dig deeper to really get the inside scoops. This helped me get to know the non consulting world that I ways wondered.
Lastly was the time. With all this, you have the time and opportunity to apply your vision. Whether that may be interning at tech, banking, non profit, etc. It was the safest setting for me to explore, especially with the help of the school brand.
The experience varies a lot by person but I took it as time off from work to find out what I really want to do in life. Although I came back to consulting, some of my colleagues from consulting went on to do vastly different things. Hope this helps :)
Don’t strategy people do analysis? I feel like both options could be modeled out. Getting a worthwhile MBA is $100-200k debt minus two years work experience which could be that promotion to manager you mentioned. Most mba recruiting hires would start at a Senior consultant at any other firm, so you would of surpassed that for no debt and still getting your salary and potential bonus
This is an incredibly short term answer but correct that MBAs start at higher pay SC level.
Really can’t understand the mindset of people who want to scramble up the ladder as fast as possible and not soak up every interesting opportunity along the way. For me, MBA is so much more than an ROI calc. The numbers happened to make a lot of sense for me, but my life and the people in it are so much richer for having the experience.
You’re only one who knows if it makes sense for you, but these low-level promotions early on in your career are not gonna be important in a decade
That makes sense - I don't think I want to be in consulting 10 years from now, but I think taking the time off for a MBA might help me reassess, make new connections, and figure out what I want to do long term
I am struggling with the same question
AS will pay for your MBA. free money
How much of it do they cover?
No
Strategy md - no mba - 22 years - make more money than I need - your experience outweighs your degree by senior manager
