Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Depends where you live and your roll and what roll you’re going into. I got my current job through a recruiter I met through LinkedIn. There are good ones and there are bad ones.
They are internal now at a firm so they don’t do that work anymore.

Like anything, there’s good ones and bad ones. You’ve either got to get lucky that you pick a good one off the bat or have to search around and try a few about before finding a recruiter that works to your needs
No, not if you are looking to grow. Recruiters are only "worth it" if you want to stay exactly where you are.
The Reality: Recruiters are salespeople, not your friends. If your resume says you specialize in (X) they see a specialized tool for a specific hole. A recruiter's job is to fill a specific "bucket" for a commission. If you are in AP, they will only sell you as an AP person because that is the easy sell. They have zero incentive to help you move up or diversify your skills because that requires more effort on their part. To them, you are a product, not a person with potential.
The Reality Check: Applying directly is better because it allows you to bypass the recruiter’s "silo" filter. When you go direct, you can speak to the company about your ability to see the full picture. If you let a recruiter handle your career, they will keep you in that AP silo until you "die" there, simply because it makes their job easier.
