Hi Fishes,

Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!
Any houston folks here?

Engineer doesn’t sound like management track
Depends on industry and firm. I’ve been places where principal engineers were very nicely compensated, though they were more technical experts than managers. Separate career path. If you are interested in management track, I don’t know that Principal Engineer is a good role
Wondering if I could jump to Director after being Principal. Thoughts?
I’ve been places where Principal Engineer was Director-equivalent, but not in the same career path. Expert vs. manager track. Some PEs became VPs, but less common than directors becoming senior directors becoming VPs
Recruiter said it’s equivalent to their director role (I applied for it but it was filled) so I assume that means in terms of salary. I guess I’m jus concerned about career progression
Engineer is both a step up and also an executive management track if you work for IBM.
