What should my requested salary be for a Senior Intelligence Analyst position with CrowdStrike ? I have a bachelors degree and 5 years of experience as an intelligence analyst. Current salary is 56k in NC, but when I was in DC I was making 86k (big locality change)… which makes me confused on what I should expect for a remote job.

What do you “advise” on?
A poor project manager is a paper pusher. A good one understands the concepts being discussed well enough to talk articulately about it and guide a team.
But you still not actually performing the work. You can help a team all day but it’s still support
Governance and strategy planning are skills no?
💯 yes. You can attempt to specialize in a specific type of PMO with a mix of sales/ business development.
But ultimately yes PMO is 100% paper-pushing coordination and administration
I’ve done this type of work for 10yrs. Get out now. You said it all right. You don’t do nothing but watch people do work so boring. I’ve been trying to get out for years and can’t, no one willing to give me a shot doing other things.
How it feels to do PMO long term
You are right. Pmo *can be* largely admin. But it can be so much more.
If the pmo views themselves as traffic cop to progress they will be loathed. But if they actually partner with project leads, give the visibility, and orchestrate then it can be rewarding.
Suggestion: maybe use the time to improve comm skills. Or strategy alignment. Or partnering with others. And use those skills to make a jump elsewhere.

I’ve been in PMO for 3 years, it’s exhaustingly boring. At least it gets me a ton of recognition with leadership.
The key words are “High Paid”.🤣

Especially considering a lot of EAs are paid 6 figures lol.
I like a mix of PMO and business analysis. Gives you ownership of work, the ability to work with teams, and manage others’.
I feel like with Claude code I have become a pmo. I get all the credit while Claude does all the work. My only job is to tell it what to do but there is definitely a skill to that.
Also pmo is easily replaceable. I’ve been in 3 jobs that I was laid off cause of job cuts and support roles were all first to go
