Much better than audit in all regards. I work less and make more than I did in audit. I’ve had recruiters hit me up for jobs I wouldn’t have gotten second looks at if I was still in audit. To say it’s the magic bullet out of accounting isn’t necessarily true but it is a step in the right direction.
Agreed that TAS is better in many regards. However, can still end up working a lot, especially on larger deals.
You work less, but likely sacrifice predictability. I made the move to FDD / TAS and haven’t looked back since. The extra $ is a nice perk as well.
If you’re able to hitch onto one or two partners / MDs you work well with, life is pretty dang easy in FDD imo.
Any openings?
My wife works TAS - its incredible
I've heard great things about TAS, and I know it's on the rise again in terms of pipeline (my firm is asking us to refer TAS Seniors and Managers again for hire, which must be a good sign)!
Y’all making me want to jump to TAS from Audit
Ymmv. I enjoyed the work a lot more but the wlb was absolutely worse, both in hours and predictability. Overall it was worth it as I made my more money and got a great exit opp. I would never go back to my old firm/office and it would be a tough sell coming back somewhere else too based on my experience.
That is the issue, I was staffed on deals non-stop, never on the bench for even one day. We never had staff EVER so I was basically trying to manage multiple deals with only offshore support. It was hell. If I had even one or two staff it would have been okay. I'm not going to name names here but if anyone is curious I may respond to a DM if you're looking for a firm to avoid.
