Texas is Texas.
Its usually Texas or the Southwest. Never the South lol
Which side was Texas on in the Civil War??
IMO:
Everything Dallas and east = South
Everything Fort Worth and West = Southwest
Coming from a southerner, I consider them south, but ppl in Texas always seemed to have this thing abt Texas being its own deal.
historically Texas has considered seceding at least twice
M1 is correct. Fort Worth proclaims itself “Where the West Begins”. Austin is an exclave of California, San Antonio and everything south of it is Mexico, Houston and East Texas are part of the South. Most of West Texas is more Midwestern though (namely the Panhandle, South Plains, Permian Basin, and Big Country)
Also a southerner E1 and I definitely do not consider Texas the south. Texas is Texas. Even the south really needs to be divided into the south vs the Deep South since NC/Virginia is sooo much different than Miss/Bama. The northern border of the south is NoVA by the way
it's like a whole other country....
Texas was its own republic. It’s Texas
