Pretty sure the government pension gives you something like half your salary every year until you die so I doubt the Deloitte one is better
M1 bit of a false comparison. People in consulting at Deloitte are not the same as those settling into GS 9 and below roles. The friends I've had who went the career route are all 14s or 15s now with 2 SESs sprinkled in, and this is not counting the politicals obviously.
You essentially get 1% for each year you’ve worked as federal based on your high-3 year salary which will more than likely be your last 3 years of working. If you are GS-15 or SES, it’s a nice chunk of change to add in with your 401k and your other investments.
The Deloitte pension is practically worthless unless you stay here for 10+ years and/or make PPMD.
Not sure about federal pension, but I worked in state/local gov’t and assume pensions are similar. I switched to consulting because salaries were so low that even 70% for life wasn’t worthwhile for me.
You guys are getting pensions?
What's the Deloitte pension ? What are the benefits there someone reaches out but it was lower pay. I didn't know about the benefits though
