SM is not a junior partner at EY. A junior partner would be a recently promoted partner.
Sm manager is not a junior partner at any of the B4. A partner with less than 5 years of partnership is a junior partner.
Disclaimer: this applies to the US.
At EY I believe it depends on the level - an experienced SM who is going for partner soon is expected to do pretty much everything a partner does and will run own projects etc while “proper” partner just drops in occasionally. If you’re a new SM you’re likely to be managed more until you prove yourself.
EY2, let me disclaim. My comment was applicable to the US firms. In a typical American fashion, I assumed OP was in the US. ;)
Your comments stand valid outside of the US.
At D and EY - probably yes.
No at K and P - we have directors at P, who are -1 Partners, so you could call them “junior partners”
