Is there a specific number of hours you need to have to get promoted to manager in your sub-service line?
I transfered from one sub-service line to another but I'm already a senior 3, will this affect promotion to manager? If yes by how long?

Probably a bit premature but would like some advice. Current in-house sr counsel at 155k +15% bonus in NJ. Company is well established private company. In the latter stages of interviewing for an established startup- salary will likely be 180-200 plus equity (pre-ipo). Very happy currently but promotions are hard to come by. Thoughts on using an offer (if one comes) as leverage for a raise (which they’re working on) or just making the move to be number 2 attorney at new company

I’m starting my first year as partner and really underestimated the cash flow challenges I’ve always heard about. With 3 kids, my health insurance is 5x, plus the tax burden, and despite a $100k bump, my cash flow is less. Aside from just being conservative, any advice? My spouse is really confused why a promotion causes financial challenge!
