TBWA NY recruiter?
Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

If a search has opened for the role, no one is ever a shoo-in. You might be perceived as a strong candidate by the recruiter, but there are likely other strong candidates being put forward for interview with the hiring team as well. The recruiter may have been told by the team that, ideally, they’d like to be at the decision stage by a certain date, but there are too many variables that can push original timelines (scheduling conflicts, sickness, new biz pitches, vacations, internal restructuring, etc.). They may also have strong candidates that are too close to call and they’ve added another interview round to assess their experience / team fit further. If you’ve heard conflicting things about the agency, that’s something to take into consideration from a reliable source, but quite frankly you’ll hear conflicting things about every agency. I understand your concern about wanting to find a more long term fit - short stints definitely are a red flag, but the reasons why are absolutely taken into consideration in this industry (not successful through the probation period vs. loss of business, etc.). Good luck - I hope it works out for you!
thank you so much for your reply! I’m usually not as confident about my candidacy, but you’re very much right that a feeling is not a guarantee. My career got semi-steamrolled after being trapped in a freelance position, then having a very short stint at a toxic in-house environment, so my “path” has definitely been changed a bit, and I just have no idea what to do next. Obviously stability and pay is so important, but I definitely fear for my next steps.
For context, I am currently unemployed and need a job. BUT I have too many short-term engagements on my resume, which have been brought up as cause for concern from interviewers before, so wherever I go next I need to stay at for at least a year (pending layoffs and such). I just want to make sure this will be a good environment
In order for someone to give you a legitimate perspective, you’re going to need to share the name of the agency.
it rhymes with dojo 🫣
