I’m not really sure. I’ll just say salesforce consulting was easiest way to get north of 100k while also being able to WFH as long as those two constants remain id keep doing it. (WFH was before Covid I may add as well)
It is the end for me: $200k base, work less 40h/ week, fully remote, no travel. Don’t know what else I want
Do you lead projects/ do architect type work ?
It’s a means to pay the bills. My career has taken some unfortunate turns. SF has helped me to stabilize that. My goal is to get 2-3 additional certifications so that I can remain competitive, which is challenging due to the unspoken age discrimination in the workplace.
My MIL's husband is mid 50s with white hair and an admin at a large f100 company.
Just a means. I’m always hesitant to tie my boat too closely with one company or product. There are always market disruptions that topple seemingly-untouchable titans.
I can fall back on my IT and management experience, Salesforce is just an aspect of that.
I aspire to make the most amount of money per hour I work that I can. Barring anything unethical or illegal, I don't really care how.

Means to an end. It just so happens I am very good at it (and picking up new technologies in general).
I think it's better in general to define your job by what you do, not how you do it (SF in this case).
My goal is to make as much money as I can, and unfortunately, that means I will likely need to boomerang back like most folks. That seems to be the fastest way to climb to ranks and increase salary.
