Is your goal to advance your career in Salesforce, or is Salesforce a means to an end for you? Either way, what do you aspire to be, and why?

I’m not really sure. I’ll just say salesforce consulting was easiest way to get north of 100k while also being able to WFH as long as those two constants remain id keep doing it. (WFH was before Covid I may add as well)

It is the end for me: $200k base, work less 40h/ week, fully remote, no travel. Don’t know what else I want

Do you lead projects/ do architect type work ?

It’s a means to pay the bills. My career has taken some unfortunate turns. SF has helped me to stabilize that. My goal is to get 2-3 additional certifications so that I can remain competitive, which is challenging due to the unspoken age discrimination in the workplace.

Just a means. I’m always hesitant to tie my boat too closely with one company or product. There are always market disruptions that topple seemingly-untouchable titans.

I can fall back on my IT and management experience, Salesforce is just an aspect of that.

Means to an end. It just so happens I am very good at it (and picking up new technologies in general).

I think it's better in general to define your job by what you do, not how you do it (SF in this case).

My goal is to make as much money as I can, and unfortunately, that means I will likely need to boomerang back like most folks. That seems to be the fastest way to climb to ranks and increase salary.

I'm two years into this job where I lateraled, and I need at least one partner to "sponsor" me to have a future with the firm. Some have mentored me here and there, but they seem uninterested in really discussing my prospects for moving up /growing. I don't know if they just lack power in firm management, or if they lack enthusiasm about me. Should I ask my top pick if he will look out for me? If I feel like I have to ask, it's a no, right?

Who knows about Goosehead insurances work culture. 5 min into sourcing I’m seeing some discouraging statistics about who they move up faster vs who they don’t. I have a interview this week and I don’t know if I should even continue forward. My main goal is growth and if it’s going to be an unfair environment then that’s a no go.

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

Just starting in cloud work, what certs would you recommend to start the learning process? AWS, Microsoft, Comptia etc…TIA!

What roles/levels would I be a good candidate for at FAANG/Microsoft/other Big Tech?
No hard technical skills (outside of financial modeling).
I’m also studying for GMAT as t15 MBA is a consideration right now, so I could also try to make the switch after that.
