I've been interviewing with some companies, and now I have to decide between JPMorgan Chase and Globant.
Globant is more innovative, and has remote work. I will enter to work with a Sillicon Valley startup based in San Francisco. The tech stack is React, Nextjs, AWS, and a serverless architecture.
JPM is semi remote, and less innovative. The tech stack Java, SpringBoot and AWS. But I'd do more migration tasks, like dockerize projects and pass them to kubernetes. What would you choose?

Need advice. I’m a super senior content EP at a well known agency in the U.S., where I’ve been for quite some time. Checked out http://Glassdoor.com, and I make at the high end of the ranges for similar agencies. In the past year I’ve also taken on additional responsibilities (outside of traditional EP duties) that have doubled my workload and raised my profile quite a bit. How should I go about brining up a sizable salary bump (some creatives and even planning peeps earn more with much less responsibility)?

San Frantriggered
Cleveland. The mistake by the lake.
Coming from Chicago, I personally get annoyed by "Chi Town"
Local in San Francisco for over a decade.
Acceptable - The City (locally speaking), SF
Not - Frisco, San Fran and above all SFO
Why would you ever say SFO if not referring to the office or the airport?
Hotlanta is the worst nickname. Please don’t use it.
I love people who get precious about nicknames for a city. It is a great sorting mechanism.
Ch-iraq/Chicago and I would think they don't appreciate it
Plenty of locals hate SF. It’s San Francisco. No lazy shortcuts.
Ugh. So true. All those SF nicknames are grating.
Chiraq/Chi Town/Chi City - I find all of those and their permutations really grating. I guess Windy City is fine? But that is about it. Born and raised in Chicago.
We use Chitown all the time. Lived there since college, it’s home to me.
Really M2? I'm a local and feel SF is the only acceptable alternative. I almost always only hear locals use it too.
Somewhat related, DC locals say this all the time, but when I hear “inside the beltway” or “this town,” it’s normal but sounds pretentious 🙄
Pwc1- do you mean The Land or CLE? 😉
The big Apple
Inside the beltway encompasses more than just dc proper, I think its actually a useful term d3. I hate “the district"
"Inside the beltway" is just shorthand for areas with bad traffic and "outside the beltway" is for areas with even worse traffic when going to / from DC.
Sometimes Kanye calls Chicago (my hometown) "the Go" and I embrace it
OP, yes. “SF” and “The City” are preferred nicknames. No one says the other ones. People also call Oakland “Oaktown” or “The Town"
