It seems like almost every lead I chat with views our software as just another basic commodity. They’re mainly after a quote to see how it stacks up against the cheapest option available. If you can’t make them see the value in the actual solution or its features, how do you prevent the deal from crumbling over a few bucks?

I left Audit at a midsize firm to join KPMG erp implementation consulting about 6 months ago. Is It better to join a PE Tech company in an impending recession or stay with a public company ?

Looking for some advice on a couple of offers I have.

The first offer is for an Account Executive position at a smaller company with a base of $50k and another $20k in OTE.

The second offer is for a BDR position at a larger and faster growing company with a base of $60k and another $20k in OTE. Also some stock options but they aren’t public yet.

I have 2 YOE as a BDR and think I could succeed in either position. Both have hybrid work set ups. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated! Thanks.

What’s the going OTE for an enterprise software pre-sales engineer/architect these days for 10+ years of experience? Looking around at different opps and not getting any pushback from asking for $250k OTE even though my current employer believes $230k is the high end for this level. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi! I’ve been approached by Securonix for a Sales Director role in NA. I know the field and their competitors. The pay is good but I’ve seen a handful of websites with employee rating that is really bad. Each site has roughly 10 reviews but most are negative. Mostly referring to toxic culture and zero work life balance. How true is this in this sales org and the company in general? This is a backfill role after a 3 year tenure for the person who left.

/160k OTE role out of Plano TX

I’m intrigued but I want to know 2 things:
1. Culture/WLB - how is it?
2. Realistic market opportunity/opportunity to crush quota (obv dependent on many things)

Background: Currently making 95k/160k OTE at a boutique research and consulting firm. I’m happy but we’re extremely flat with little to no opp for promotion in the next 2+ years.

If I have to book 20 meetings a month, how many conversations do I need to be having a day ( email, LinkedIn, cold calls, dark social ) with a drop out rate at 20%.

Is Account executive the goal once you become a BDR? What are the other paths that other people have taken?
