I try to take walks during my lunch break if possible or read outside on my kindle to get some sunshine during the middle of the day. Doing that a couple of times a week, even if it is cold, helps me cope. I agree, SAD lamps are a poor replacement for sunshine. I have one too in my office.
Here's my plan for the winter dealing with SAD. Lunchtime walks are a good start. Do them In a park, you have to see some green. If the sun pops out find a bench that faces it and sun bathe for bit, I take some supplements, like a general multivitamin, vitamin d with zinc, creatine . Wake up and go to sleep at the same time every day, even on the weekends. Use your lightbox at work in the morning and the late afternoon. You are trying to stretch the day in terms of light. Adopt a positive mindset, glass half full. Do some exercise, make it regular, even if it's 20 minutes. If none of this lifts you, then talk to your GP/doctor about it and you may want to consider taking anti depressants.
