Hi Fishes, I am bit confused to pick the role in KPMG lighthouse as Sr Cloud Data architect or Saama technology as a Project lead. Money wise it is not a big difference. In KPMG I will work with partner where as in saama I will work with project/program manager. Please suggest your opinion. Saama KPMG KPMG India

Globant India Pvt. Ltd. Hi Globers ! I have an offer from Globant for the role of a BA. While discussing the role with HR pre and post the interviews & offer, I had specifically ask the HR to tag me to Ahmedabad location as that's my hometown and I do not wish to relocate. But she has rolled out the offer for Pune location ane verbally ( isn't giving me in writing ) assured me that the location will be flexible. May I know from the fellow Globers if we have location flexibility or WFH option available? Globant India Pv

At the very beginning of my career, I was naïve and eager to work for a customer, so I accepted a job where I was contracting through several layers of agencies. I was hired by Agency A, which contracted me to Agency B, which contracted me to Agency C, which finally placed me with the actual client. I ended up making only one-third of what a junior engineer should have earned.
After a year of this arrangement, one of the middle agencies asked me to drop Agency A. When I did, the representative from Agency A became very angry and basically called me a traitor. About seven months later, the final agency asked me to drop the middle agency as well. They also told me I was a traitor and asked me never to contact them again.
I eventually left that job after a few years, still on good terms with the final agency. The whole experience taught me that it’s rarely about you, it’s about the company you are leaving. If they have their own issues (for example, being very small or overly focused on money), they will resent you no matter what.
Leaving a company is normal. Working directly for the client can usually be handled without problems. The agency doesn’t want to lose the customer, the client will typically just ask the agency for another resource, and everyone else moves on.
It’s okay to bring it up politely by sharing your interest in long-term stability and asking about the process. Recruiters usually handle it through the agency first, so showing respect for both sides goes a long way.
When I was on contract I had made it very clear to the agency I was stil going to be pursuing full time hire work and if it was going to be an issue than I would politely decline. It wasn’t and honestly once they knew they could lose me I was converted quickly to full time. I would hope the agency would understand that people need FT with benefits and wish you well.
I would say it’s great to ask your employer about that! Be honest. They will understand. I think everyone knows you would rather be a FT than contractor. Bring it up and talk about options
