I've been at a Big4 for 9 months and just got a great offer from a mid-sized firm. Is it too early to leave or should I feel lucky to go?

9 months experience, the mid-sized firm is buying you while you’re on sale. Build up more market value first if you want to maximize $. If you don’t like your job, that’s different calculus.

Depends on how much?

Hell yeah. Stay at B4 unless you want to stay in public long term

Stay where you are.

What’s a great offer?

I personally wouldn’t unless you absolutely hate your current firm. Most day-to-day is the same from firm to firm and you just have to spend a whole bunch of time re-learning the systems, firm resources, politics, etc. yet still be expected to perform like your peers.

Well, yes, you can argue that even at big 4, you have public and private clients that follow different guidance and there’s different audit approaches but you’re still overall doing audit. But you’re still spending a lot of time planning, performing risk assessment, coaching others, participating in firm initiatives, etc. OP never mentioned why they want to switch so on a day-to-day basis, you’re doing similar tasks.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.
