I’ve been at an agency for almost 1.5 years. We get 10 vac and 5 pers days. My boss approved a 2-week PTO request for Nov and I submitted a request for a 5-day PTO in June. my PTO request emails are phrased as “PTO Request”. Our PTO days don’t roll over and we don’t get the money back if we don’t use them. my old boss forced us to take our personal days. my entire family says I shouldn’t take the June PTO b/c the agency will give me issues for taking five back to back personal days. Any advice?

No. Take the days off. They're part of your compensation.

Can’t you resubmit your Nov. PTO with a few personal days? A good boss, if you’re in good standing will hep you.

Pros: 50k bump, company is full remote, no time tracking software, unlimited PTO, 10k in quarterly bonuses, vertical move in responsibility and title, will set me up for future roles in different companies with the title I am looking for (so strategic move)

Cons: Its a startup, the solution they offer is adjacent my desired industry, its a very small team so I wouldn’t be necessarily grow my network, tech stipend for new laptop (but they don’t provide a work one)

Our industry needs to change the way it does recruiting. We make it impossible for people to apply directly to agencies. Relying on employee referrals gets good "culture fits" at the cost of diversity

Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .
