Never leave a job without a pay bump. It’s the only way you’ll make more money and tbh our time in this industry is short-lived. Especially since you aren’t a creative… follow the money.
Hi, Sorry to start with some negativity but you are being wildly underpaid for an Account Manager with 12 accounts. I think you need to make a switch and negotiate for a nice pay bump immediately.
Bigger agency rarely means better. You’re going to end up dealing with more levels of bureaucracy and more headaches. Staying small can mean running more lean, maybe more efficiently, but you’ll likely run into a lack of resources when things get crazy. I think you might need to take a step back and think about which scenario you will be more comfortable in when things get uncomfortable.
It’s a tough job market across the board right now, so try to be patient and avoid getting desperate when possible. Trust what you read on Glassdoor and Fishbowl about companies and ask about what you see here in interviews. Best of Luck!
I think big name agencies make sense at the beginning of your career so once you have them on your resume people know you’re “legit”. But from my experience some less known places with less “sexy” accounts generally have better work life balance and pay.
