Take the Security+, it’s meant for entry level cyber roles and is well known.
You can also look for roles that are in the GRC side of a company’s security function, which will expose you to a lot of risk stuff you’re used to but focused on security. Get in there and learn more about cyber overall, then look at moving to an operations or other role that’s more of a growth area for you. It sounds like you need a “foot in the door” type of role that gets you into security full time and exposes you to a broad base of topics, then you can branch out.
What kind of IT audit work have you been doing? If it’s IT SOX, first focus on getting experience outside of that.
