I’ve been in private accounting for three years now and it’s…fine. Decent pay, stable team, nothing bad exactly. But I’m bored. The work is repetitive, the path to promotion feels glacial, and I can feel my curiosity dying a little every month. I keep wondering if I missed the window to pivot into something faster-paced because I didn’t leave sooner. Is it too late to jump tracks now? Has anyone made a successful pivot after a few years in private?

Hi all! I need some advice. I came in at a lower level than I wanted and turns out, I did a shitty deal at negotiating. I’m up for a promotion (title but not salary bc of COVID) - when salary increases are a thing, how much should I negotiate for? Like percentage wise, with the fact that I’m about 7-10K underpaid compared to other people with the current title?

Read that McK is paying 2K higher than BCG this year which means BCG will probably raise again next year to at least match. However, they can’t just copy McK with 2K to match because that would look bad so they’ll have to beat it again. Then McK and Bain will follow. Barring a devastating recession, I’m guessing this means MBB is all getting raises again next year?

Switching team internally competing with external candidates. was asking a promotion for next grade midpoint but was ok to accept >=50% hike which i told hiring manager before the process start itself which he said will consider if I'm the one selected.
