Just tell the partner you work for that you accepted this awesome new job and you are starting on X date and you will need to have a lot of flexibility in your upcoming work schedule. When they try to clarify whether you are giving notice just say “oh no no no, I intend to keep working here so I receive my salary, but we definitely need to have a discussion about one of those flexible work arrangements I keep hearing about.” You will be fired on the spot and keep that CPA bonus of yours. Let us know how it goes! 👍
I promise you if you stay for 3 years this job you “can’t pass up” will be blown away by future offers.
Yeah, I feel like you’d have to work a year or something after getting your bonus to keep it. If the new job you got is so great, why not just tell them to give you more money to cover the bonus you’re about to pay back
Essentially a close family friend’s financial planning company is acquiring another fin planning company, so I’ll be working as a planner and begin building a relationship with those newly acquired clients to ensure the business is retained and basically become the financial planner for those clients
Remind me not to open a new account anytime soon
Started sep 2015 at PwC in assurance. There was no bonus repayment policy in my offer letter, and I did not have to repay it giving notice 3 business days after the pay date. It has been about a year.
Lol look on kcurve 🙄
The bonus repayment policy is in the offer letter you signed, and PwC does hold you to it.
Go grab the seniors ass...get you fired real quick and you will be free.
Lol manager responses are getting pretty kooky
Yes you have to repay your bonuses in most firms unless they fire your ass
Does anybody have experience with this that has worked specifically for PwC?
I imagine all the big 4 have the same policy. Same with a starting bonus. If you don’t stay x number of years you have to repay the bonus. I’m sure they told you this somewhere when you started the process
What’s the new job?
That’s amazing to hear. Thank you so much for telling me that!
Just pay it back you sneaky boy it is not ur money if you leave.
You can always ask the new hire to pay you the money you’re losing out on by leaving.
