I've gotten some poor reviews lately, and it was mentioned that I may be put on a PIP. My immediate reaction is to start interviewing and look for another job. My question is, is it better to leave before getting put on PIP, during, or after I'm terminated? Maybe having paid leave to look for another job would be better. I don't really want to do another busy-season, so I'm thinking leaving around January is best. Should I start interviewing now?

That’s probably too far out for some folks that might need to bring on someone quickly. If the right offer comes along be prepared to leave a 2 week notice.

Don’t worry in Industry we’re not in a rush, it takes 3-4 weeks to do a background check. Another month to interview so I would say he is a little late for January 😂

Don't quit. Let them let you go with pay/severance.
But, definitely start looking.

If you get terminated after a pip, it would be uncommon to get severance. The point of a pip is largely to give employers cover to fire you without severance.

Hey Folks, Can any one suggest a good name for this bowl

New to Toronto, moved to the west end of town/ just past - in Etobicoke. I celebrate my 40th a few days after NYE/NYD - would love some recommendations on moderately priced but nice ambiance restaurants for myself + husband, and my extended family. Everyone is scattered throughout (Hamilton, Barrie, Lyle, Newmarket, North York). Don’t want anything too fancy but don’t really know where or what is good and not downtown.

Any recommendations? (Open to GTA of course).

Can I reasonably access 401k funds to buy a house, or should I keep just putting 10% to 401k and investing post tax money to save up a down payment?

Upon checking in IT statement found I got gift perk of around rs 4500 but it eas not added to my salary in account. Did anyone know where is this gift perk and how can I use this ?

What’s going on FB friends,

I am contemplating a move to industry working at a VC, Tax Director role east coast. Looks like it will be primarily overseeing compliance with some aspect of advising on structures etc. There is another tax reporting head above me.

The potential comp is the low 200k with a 10% bonus (still higher than what I am making). I feel this is pretty low for VC standards but maybe my standards are also too high. I have generally seen 25% bonus with carry.

Any thoughts?
