After submitting my resume for the Global Finance and Business Management full time position at JP Morgan (my dream job!), I got a HireVue invite the next day! However, I completed it 9 days ago and still have no response....
When do we get a response in average, and after how much time does it mean I probably am not getting an offer to continue?
Thanks!

Yes. There’s a lot of noise and unprofessional behavior at the other side of the table lately.
Yes, I am experiencing the same interview process.
Wish the (1) interview process was like it used to be..
Just keep applying and take nothing personal!
That one person will find and hire you and see your worth. Be patient. I'm going on 3 months and gotta stay positive
Good luck
Yes- not only in tech-there are crappy/rude hiring managers everywhere, Sadly…
This thread makes me feel better about my situation. Top performer at back to back startups and RIFed twice in a row. I talk with recruiters/HM/VPs and they don’t believe the level of performance I’ve achieved sometimes and it’s really disheartening.
I think it has to do with the market — there are a lot of qualified candidates at various points in the interview process, and if they find a good fit, they will stop all ongoing interviews and present that person an offer. They could word this much better in the rejection letter, though, and offer to keep the door open for future opportunities.
I have experienced the same thing. I was even offered a role via email with all of the compensation details written out along with connecting one last time to pick a start date.
After the meeting I was told to expect the formal contact by that night and never received it. First thing the next morning I get an email saying that they changed their mind and wouldn't be offering me the role. They wouldn't even give me a straight answer why. Defiantly a souring experience but if that's the lack of respect happening via leadership, I dodged a bullet.
Keep your head up! The right role is out there for us.
That is WRONG!!! I have my viewpoint as to why this is happening, and it centers around generational mindset, lack of respect, and immature thought processes. There is no moral compass on the behalf of the recruiter (not all recruiters) or hiring managers. Dare I say it? Look at the ages! There is a correlation and it's being talked about a lot lately. It's only going to get worse, unfortunately.
Same here, I was told verbally I got the job. That the hiring manager and HR lady would reach out to me. I get a call from a district manager a few days later for at 4th interview. After that interview I get a rejection letter. I guess the verbally offer was BS.
I hear you my friend.
Oh that’s not good. Honestly is better than hurting someone who really needs an employment.
Yeah AB Staffing pulled the same thing on me. Made me wait weeks to hear back and start anything and as soon as I finished just about all the pre-screening processes I was left with a rescinded offer letter with no explanation
On no ! That’s disheartening, I’m so sorry you had such an experience. Let’s hang in there it’s not easy in this market.
I've had this happen on indead, when they were still moving me forward, it's a form letter that gets triggered on the employer side for not doing something I think. if you schedule an interview and get an email like that from indead I would investigate.
I was just there not too long ago and it's honestly crazy-making. I am too old for games
Yes I've noticed the following:
1. AI programs searching for the EXACT keywords and phrases inputted by the Talent team.
2. Jobs being posted only to have the job pulled due to budget changes.
3. 5-7 stages of interviews with everyone and the coffee maintenance guy! If any one of them (even if they have no experience of Sales) doesn't like something about you then you're out. This means a 'Brand centric' Marketing person with 5 years total working experience can shoot you down.
4. Companies asking for your GTM plan in advance - like give us your intellectual property and we promise not to use it without hiring you!
I'm of the opinion that old style recruiting has gone out the window with a new generation of recruiting professionals who in my opinion are making terrible decisions.
Preach!
This has happened to me twice in my current job search. The first one I had received verbal offers from both the CEO and Director but they changed their mind prior to sending me the formal offer.
The second one, I had a great interview with the Director who said she was moving me to a 2nd interview with the CEO only to change her mind the next day and say they were going with two other candidates.
It's been a challenge out there.
It sucks but at least you received a response! I've had a lot of interviews and then was ghosted. It's very discouraging
At least you are getting a rejection email. I have been told that 7 times by 7 different companies and have gotten ghosted. The only thing we can do is keep moving forward!
Hi, yes I have been through this a few times over the last few months. Just recently happened on Monday with email from hiring manager, after call call with recruiter at end of process where she set expectations to expect offer this week after she confirmed with hiring manager. This is after multiple interview calls, panel presentation interview and executive lunch meeting with hiring manager and his VP. I have reached out to hiring manager to at least get some feedback, my assumption is I was getting strung along as backup for other candidate.
