I’ve had a nagging headache the last few weeks but not bad enough to take OTC meds. The last four days or so it has gotten worse and I’m now taking Aleve or IB Profen which haven’t helped much. I have a history of ocular migraines and ice pick headaches. Getting concerned that it’s not going away and wondering if I should go to the doctor or do I keep waiting it out?

Go to doctor and get full blood work. Seriously. You never know what could be off... so get it now before it can get you

Sufferer of migraines and cluster headaches triggered by a pinched occipital nerve. I can’t tell you what to do or not to do. But I’ll share my checklist:

Rule out the easy stuff.
-Sleep (getting enough?)
-hydration (caffeine, alcohol, and energy drinks don’t count)
-proper nutrition (gal cant live on protein shakes and not making time to eat is dangerous)
-Sinuses - fall allergies/changes in barometric pressure?
- Prescription eyewear up to date?
- regular exercise?
- meditation lapsing?
- stress level in check?
- bp (mine is low, so this isn’t an issue for me)
- time to go back on inderal for a while?

Regular “tension” headaches typically are in one or more of those categories for me.

If OTC fails to work, my Rx NSAIDs don’t work, and I’m on day 4...break glass. I wouldn’t have let it go for four straight days without trying the first two, and by day 3 Of a solid headache....I’d get a consult - especially if I was having pre-migraine symptoms (iritability, stimuli sensitivity, auditory ringing, auras, etc.,)

Prolonged headaches and uncontrolled migraines can cause a number of problems. I won’t suffer any longer, or risk cycling in and out of migraines for weeks.

Good luck OP. Let us know how things turned out.

Have you tried allergy meds? It’s that time of year...

Everyday I take Claritin and Singulair which is prescription. I have asthma and allergies so I’m always diligent about allergy meds.

I would recommend going to the doctor- they might be able to get you on a triptan drug or zomig to help break the headache. They also might have you start a course of physical therapy to work the neck muscles as that can be a source of nagging headaches

My dad had a migraine last for months that was a rebound headache from his body becoming dependent on the ibuprofen. Doesn’t sound like that’s what’s happening here if you just started taking OTC meds, but just thought I’d throw that out there.

Have you seen a chiropractor or massage therapist. Sometimes my muscles are so tight the irritate the nerves.

Could be stress / TMJ.

I recommend going to a Dr.

Try better meds—Imitrex. Then, stop eating sugar, soy lethicin and anything with dyes. Get The Migraine Brain.

Have you tried CBD cream? I know it’s temporary sin relief but that’s what helps calm my headaches for good periods of time. Drink as much water as you can!!!!!!

*pain

I get migraines as well I have had one for a few days and water and CBD cream have helped so much

Stress is causing a massive flare-up of racing thoughts recently. I feel like it's been at least a week or two since I last was able to completely clear my mind. And if it's not random stream-of-consciousness mess, it's music. Ever had a song stuck in your head? Because I've had one for four days now. Driving me nuts. Anyone else struggle with this/have a solution?

Question on UK visa-
My partner will be traveling often to London, once a month for an year starting September. He is getting his visa through work (10 years, multiple entry, 6 months max stay, cost some $1000).

I have applied for standard tourist visa in the past and they are usually short term. It could be max 6 months, but they see your itinerary and allocate you few months around the itinerary

Is there a way to get 6 months multiple entry visa, if I were to join him once in a while.

Let’s talk alcohol abuse. Why don’t employers test for it?

I’d like to say “I ran an experiment”. But the truth is simply that I’m an alcoholic (or just an addict) by definition; I’m the type to have periodic mid/long-term bursts of heavy drinking. I most recently lost almost everything to it and my employer, if they did notice, had no concerns. Now I’m switching jobs and had to take a drug screen… I could have passed with flying colors and a 1.3BAC, no one would say a thing. It’s terrifying.
