My base loc is Bengaluru, but currently I am not mandatorily required to work from office, and have been working from home since I joined Deloitte in July. Should I talk to my manager and go back to my hometown Kolkata and work from there? Staying in PG all day and working from here is not quite feasible for me. Suggest pls. Deloitte India

You aren’t alone. Many of us have this issue. Reminders and self-imposed
deadlines really don’t work that well - a more reliable strategy is to make a habit of tackling new tasks right away (or at least evaluating what needs to be done) and cultivating a regular mop-up habit — put everything you’ve been putting off or not finished in a pile or on a list and make yourself do them one at a time until you can do no more. In my case this doesn’t necessarily prevent late nights (because of how hard it is to avoid distractions!) but the work gets done sooner and better.
This is exactly how I fixed my focus problems. Now, checking items off my list feels more like a game than work and I’m confident I’ve unlocked a super power 🤪
I watch movies that I have seen many, many times or I listen to music. For both, I never actually end up paying attention to the movie or music, but that background noise helps trick my mind into thinking I’m not actually working.
Also, try scheduling blocks on your calendar where you focus on one thing you need to do and then reward yourself with a break.
Or, try dictation apps where you can talk and it will be typed for you. Then, you can go back and edit. Lounging on your coach thinking out load can be great for getting the creativity going. Or, dictate while you walk.

Create your own structure. Block off time on your calendar ex: from 1-2 I’m focusing on x, 2-2:30 I’m working on y.
I have a therapist who holds me accountable for deadlines. I feel really guilty if I miss the weekly deadline. This helps me in addition to the techniques you mentioned above. I also find I avoid less if I exercise for at least an hour every morning.
OP- w/ ADHD you are supposed to have worked with a psychologist or similar to develop mechanisms to cope/help with productivity. It works in conjunction with your meds. If you do not have anything to build on then everything spins out of control. & unfortunately covid is that time. You need to develop a routine. It’s a start to at least get some sense of structure. If you get too far out of wack the meds will not help at all. So you’ve caught this early enough, now time to get some mechanisms in place.
I’m the same. I didn’t do any work last week. My timesheet is due tomorrow so fuck knows how I’m gonna blag it. Any tips would be appreciated...I’m thinking loads of time to learning & development code (doesn’t affect utilisation)?
