About to head to the HC for a role in ProdOps and Strategy in Mountain View. 4 YoE at MBB, no competing offers. Recruiter gave me a form that asks expected comp.
Levels.fyi has only PM salaries. I haven’t been told the level but expect it to be L4.
What total comp would you expect for this role? Any advice would be super helpful, as I’m a bit lost.

Have an offer at Citi for 120K as an AVP in the NY office. Currently making 92K at my current role. Is this a fair offer? I currently WFH pretty much full time at my current role but it seems like this one requires 2-3 days in the office - and this is something I’m very hesitant about. Thoughts on how to approach this?
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

Without sounding transactional? Your salary is the definition of a transaction
I definitely wouldn't mention it explicitly. But I would probably negotiate a little bit more confidently. I wouldn't say, "You're obviously short-staffed, so I would like another 20%," but I would probably ask for an extra 20% with the understanding that they need me more than I might need them.

Being understaffed in this market isn't leverage for you. They are most likely understaffed by design/intent, and also have 100 more applicants behind you who are ready to take the role at what the company wants to pay.
Do leverage your skills and experience to land as high as possible within their range, but don't dillude yourself into thinking that you have some sort of upper hand.
This is such a good point. It really is a company's market right now. They have so many applicants waiting for a job behind you.
By the nature of the company having an open position wouldn’t that imply that they are currently understaffed? If they were adequately staffed why would they be hiring?
Highly dependent on the reasoning for staffing. If you have a niche skill, that could work in your favor. However, there are a lot of lean running teams, and most companies aren’t too worried about people coming in to fill positions.
