I’ve spent three years in T1 Investment Banking and I’m officially burnt out, so I’ve started looking at Corporate Development roles. The pay cut is something, but the WLB promises sound almost too good to be true. My MD caught wind of me interviewing and told me I’m throwing my career away by leaving the sell-side so early. Is the jump actually a career killer, or is he just mad he’s losing a spreadsheet monkey?

But somehow I get schedule cancellation e-mail on or before Tuesday & the process continues from last 1.5 months

I currently work at a small PI firm in Atlanta were EVERYTHING is settled presuit. If we’re unable to settle, then it’s referred to another firm for litigation. This whole process seems very atypical to me and the attorneys rarely touch a file until the first liability offer is received. The paralegals handle everything from intake to drafting the demands. The attorney briefly skims (does NOT read) the demand packages and signs. Is this ethical?? Anyone else work at a firm that is run this way??

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?
