If you are prepared to walk away anyway, worth it to try and negotiate. You are not working out of the goodness of your heart. You are doing it for that paycheck. Do what you can to get the best one possible for yourself.
Being things back to value.
The best “how” metrics make your manager/team lives easier. I keep screenshots when I’m given a genuine “thank you” that I want to remember for later.
On a Q3 check in yesterday my manager said “I know you’re mentoring two BDRs and that speaks to your brand and influence here” which isn’t tied to quota.
The long and the short is “gaf about others success and they’ll advocate for you getting the promotion or making a little higher in the wage band”
Salary negotiations are so awkward the first few times. However, the more you do it, the better you will get at it and the easier it becomes. If it is super low, I would just walk away.

I used to freeze on salary talks too, even after closing big deals. What helped me was preparing my “win story” beforehand—listing my impact and wins confidently. Also, thinking of negotiation as a conversation, not a fight, made it less scary to push back.

If you know your skills and experience in sales, you can walk in with confidence knowing what you can do and demand a certain pay. I would listen to positive music or podcasts before going into a discussion to get myself into a mental place to debate. Also if you are debating on walking away from this offer, use this as practice to negotiate. Be professional and polite but confident. If it works, you know what to do. If it doesn't, you know what you need to work on when you leave for the next discussion.
