Apple UK cover letter - Yea or Nay?
Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

First, congrats! My advice would be to take management and people development seriously. It sounds likely that you’ll be managing people in your new role and active, *positive* motivation of most, if not all, junior employees will probably be the single best thing you can do for your team’s success and their satisfaction.
Agreed w all of these comments. Don’t let imposter syndrome cripple you. You need to do lots of self talk to not come in feeling like you’re a fake or shouldn’t be in that role or have a chip on your shoulder. You need to come in confident. You are a smart and resourceful person. Industry and consulting are different and some things will present a learning curve but some things you will be inherently better at from consulting. Remember that and use those strengths. I agree w the concept of it being worth it to pay a career coach for a while. Also agree w the focus on a few core KPIs/drive for results and then leadership/mentorship of those under you. Those are the only two things you should focus on and don’t get bogged down by everything else.
(Oh also in my experience email in industry is way more often and overwhelming that consulting. Learn a system for managing it early. Worth a class on this. Good systems involve working 1 hour in the morning before checking it and only checking it onnthe house etc)
Now just how did you make that jump partner
SM3 is spot on
For reference, I’m a Senior Associate right now.
Know a good one in LA?
Honestly, when I interviewed, I was expecting “Manager”- Senior Director in the offer completely threw me for a loop
Choose a few things/short list of objectives and drive hard for results. Given the big jump in titles, going into the next role will be a matter of proving you deserve to keep that title. I have seen people who make that big jump early get bumped back down and/or find the next role more ambiguous from the disparity. The best way to shine is to be focused and people oriented. Congrats and good luck!
How much is your pay bump? 100%?
More deets pls
Remember when sometimes our moms used to buy clothes that were one size up so that we would grow into them.
Think of this like that.. the role is something tou would grow into. Sure it would feel a little loose for now, but have the confidence that you will grow. (Also recommend reading the growth mindset by Carol Dweck)
Also, don't let this nervousness prevent you from being you- your authenticity will garner the support you will need!
Congratulations and good luck!
Wow what’s your comp increase? Definitely jumped a few titles. Congrats.
Congrats 🍾
Understand your core KPIs and what drives them. Everything flows from that.
How did you do this OP? What practice?
Is this a startup or a small company? No disrespect to OP but I believe the firm was reckless in my view.
It actually isn’t, which is what makes it so much weirder.
