Bain & Company Hello, I received an offer as a Senior Practice Manager at Bain. The profit sharing range is 0-12% in the offer letter. Is it typical to receive the midpoint (6%)? Also, what do the annual salary increases typically look like? Any insights are much appreciated. Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company
McKinsey & Company Hi everyone. Hope all is well.
Recently took the McKinsey & Company game (not sure if I have an interview yet but preparing nonetheless). It’s an entry level business analyst position and an entry level digital position and was wondering if anyone wanted to case prep with me. I’m willing to work on anyones time zone. (I’m located in Sydney, Australia).
BCG final round interview in a week. Any tips on what to expect in a partner level conversation?
- how is it different than the round 1 experience?
- how important is the casing component? I'm doing pretty well, but not perfect. Friends have been eating me 8/10, with the need to improve structure and be more top down in my communication. I'm wondering what I can do to improve that in a week and if that will be a deal breaker on interview day?

Big congrats and welcome! I don't think there's much optimization to do since your tenure starts the day you start. Pick a date that makes sense for you, and do enjoy a nice break if you can. Wishing you success!
Thank you - I appreciate this a ton!
Agree that start date won't really matter for the firm, though I'd ask if you can start with a cohort of other starters in that office - there's a valuable comraderie and bonding with your starting cohort.
On promotion window, once you've accepted your offer the window is defined by your job level & region, and there is no retrospective flexibility if you arrive and conclude you should have been fast-tracked. It is *sometimes* possible for experienced hires like yourself to negotiate "tenure credit" (i.e. bring forward your promotion window by 6-12 months) *before* your offer is finalised. Get it in writing. Some regions do this regularly, others try to avoid it. Most credible if you're taking a title / pay cut to move to the firm, and have existing consulting experience. Be aware that for "up-or out" tracks like the traditional generalist consulting track, you're taking the risk of bringing forward the "or out" as well as the "up" part. For the expert consulting track, there's more flexibility to extend the promotion window if needed, so tenure credit is essentially free option value.
This is all super helpful, appreciate the depth of insight. Thank you!
Hi! I also just received an EH offer for a Global services role. Was the base rigid or was there flexibility to negotiate?
